The Keeper’s Universe is a crossover between a classic message board RPG and a tabletop RPG.
Rules are fairly simple. Each player creates a character, and a backstory then submit their idea to The Keeper who acts as a game master. Then based on your character the Keeper will let you know what kinds of ship, vehicle, weapons, and funds your character will have. Players can have multiple characters or may play minor side characters as needed.
Game play is mostly story based. Each person types onto the message board what their character is doing and saying. If an action is challenging or requires some degree of skill the Keeper will ask you for a dice roll and then let you know if you succeed in action. We will use a 20 sided dice. Roll a 20 and you automatically succeed, a 1 and you automatically fail. You can use an online dice roller such as: www.google.com/search?q=dice+roller or you can roll your own dice. You will be trusted to report accurately what you roll.
Ex: Mathoni Griffin is cornered. Three men are chasing him down the hallway and he’s at a locked door. He didn’t want to resort to violence but he has no choice. Mathoni draws his pistol, aims quickly and fires three times. (Mathoni rolls a 9, 8, and 3, one for each shot.)
Keeper adds: Mathoni wounds the first two men in the leg and misses the 3rd. The third man pulls his weapon and fires intending to main Mathoni. He rolls a 17. Mathoni roll to dodge. If less than 15 you’re hit.
With approval from The Keeper players may roll dice for NPC’s that are around them in order to speed up game time waiting for a reply.
Rules will be updated and improved as time goes on.
