I thought I would just share something I found funny and somewhat ironic.
A few weeks ago I came across the first fourteen pages of a screenplay I had started to write a few years ago and set aside. The story was based on a short story that I had written when I was fourteen. The story was about The Keeper of Earth and became the foundational history for my science fiction universe which I later titled, The Keeper's Universe. A few days ago I stumbled across the original copy of the story (I wont post it, its pretty poorly written, just a good story). So I've decided to pursue the screenplay again as I think it would make an excellent movie.
The ironic thing is that when I was fourteen I was living in Albuquerque, but I chose to make the Keeper's headquarters in the Salt Lake valley of Utah, a futuristic version where there had been mass flooding and earthquakes, all of which probably will happen there someday soon. In the story the Keeper's headquarters were centered in two buildings in the valley, those two buildings are where I happen to work now. (thats the ironic part). Another funny thing is that in the story I invented a tunnel that connected the buildings, well go figure, there really is a tunnel that connects the buildings and I use it daily.
For the screenplay I am actually going to use the Utah state capital building for the Keeper's HQ. It is also a very interesting building and much easier to get permission to film in than the office building I'm in.
So hope you all dont mind my ramblings, I just wanted to share that thought which I found funny with people who may appreciate it.
Hope you all is well!
