Hey everyone, I've decided to ask you all for some help on creating a better title that could be used in the tv series and video game versions of Keepers Universe.
Here are some of my ideas, some are good and many are cheesy but its just a brainstorm and maybe my bad ideas will trigger some better ones in your mind.
Republics and Empires Sentinels of Heaven Battle Stations Guardian Force Heaven’s Shadow Sentinels of the Universe Universe Battles Galaxy Defenders The Space Admiralty The Next Frontier Galactic Warfare The Next Cold War Universal Cold War The Future of Creation Galaxy Adventures Adventures in Space Worlds of War War and Peace: Galactic Edition Adventures in the Milky Way Battle School War of the Cosmos Galactic Special Forces

I like War and Peace: Galactic Edition. But that's probably the book nerd in me talking. xD
Question: What's a main theme running through the planned television series and video game? Could that be incorporated into the title?
Or... if the characters are based on a particular ship or use a particular type of fighter, you could use that name -- ie Palora, after a carrier, or Stardetski, after a fighter (just pulled those out of the air).

I was always partial to Sentinels of Heaven, Drew kind of liked Battle Stations which I think would be a fun name for the video game but I'm having a hard time picturing the tv show named that.

Hmm, Sentinels of Heaven... It sounds nice. It's just that when you say the word 'heaven,' I invariably think of the heaven, not the sky or outer space. So if you tell me that someone is a sentinel of heaven, I immediately picture a US marine. (From the halls of Montezuma, lala...)
The tv series and the game would be based on your novel, correct? Or would it include early events in KU's forum history (as in, long before I first showed up)?

The novel would pretty much be pilot episode and the series would continue on with 90% of it coming from keepers universe. The game has very little from the novel, at least so far as what I've heard from Drew. I also liked the title Republics and Empires, does bring a little to mind the game Age of Empires but it might be okay.

It might be hard to cram the entire novel into a pilot (even a 2 hour pilot). Maybe you could spread it out over the first few episodes, and over those episodes introduce the characters. Show what they were doing during the liberation of Pangea and use that to give the viewer background/teaser information. Then later in the first season, fast-forward to the present time and be like, "And now, ten years later..." And then show the viewer where these characters ended up. Maybe do a "the past is ever present in the now" type thing and dig up old skeletons from the war to haunt the characters.
90% coming from KU, you say? Would any of our characters be putting in appearance? If so, to what extent would they be present and will the show's writers maintain the original spirit of the character?

If you would like your characters included I would love to include them, but I can't promise what the writers will do, unless you want a writing job :-)

I'll have to think about it.
I just don't want to turn on the TV and find out that Ghost hijacked Nex and went merc, or that Taita married Senator Joseph Vanderbilt, or that Will's a mole for Mortimer inside the GRA government and is party to a conspiracy to restore Javis's family to power on Pangea. I would be most distraught.

Well before most of that could happen we'd have to at least get a through a couple of seasons. The first season would involve Javis getting killed in the pilot, mid season excitment would be the attempted invasion of the Alltradeuin Empire into Republic space because the Socialists talked them into it, and season ending with the battle for Rio Querino and the death of Fontana D'or. Next season would involve rebirth of the Alltradeuins and the problems with Emporer Kayne, might even take us into Emporer Macklan, not sure yet. There is some fun civil war stuff there I want to make sure gets taken care of well. And as for characters I think it would be pretty safe to say we can keep Will on the good guys side and still end up with Taita.

xD
Who says Will is going to stay on the good side and marry Taita? >D -plots sinisterly and dastardly-
But yay for political craziness. Who's going to be your main cast -- meaning, which characters are you going to focus on?

That's great =D
-whacks Katie- Hush, Will's been too difficult already. It's Taita or nothing! XD'

-is whacked- Will, difficult? Nawwww. >D
Matchmaker aunt, arranged marriage, psycho suitors, near-death experiences, etc. -- perfectly normal. These kinds of things happen all time. xD

So long as the backstory or legends of the Empire are whispered throughout the first few episodes. Maybe even portray them in a harsh way so the viewers grow to hate them as well, and then later realize they aren't that bad at all

If the main cast is a mix of GRA, SA, and AE characters, then the tensions will be evident as they interact. And as the show progresses through the first few seasons, we'll probably see the characters learn to look beyond the stereotypes and the rumors and see that people of other nationalities are human as well. Of course, there will always be the old die-hards who refuse to change their mindset...
